The iPhone application MTL Urban Museum provides a unique opportunity to revisit the history of Montreal landmarks such as Sainte-Catherine Street, Sherbrooke Street, Old Montreal, Mount Royal Park and the McGill University campus. Launched in September 2011, it superimposes historic images onto present-day views of 150 locations in the city drawing on the 1.2 million pictures in the Notman Photographic Archives. The cutting-edge application, which uses augmented reality, is available for free at the App Store.
