This approach is particularly relevant in the contemporary context, at a time when there are so many public issues relating to the development of territories and landscapes. The sense that there is a crisis in land management, and people's interest in discovering, enjoying and experiencing places, their identities and their heritage appeal, are creating pressure both to preserve and protect landscapes, and to open them up to development and landscape project approaches.
